Motivation:

How to approximate a geometry by a set of simplices (i.e. points, edges, triangles, tetrahedra...)?

Solution:

A Delaunay mesh generator that deals with curve geometries, which is able to generate a homeomorphic initial mesh. As new points are inserted, the mesh better approximates the curve geometry.

Example:

The following first two figures depict a superficial triangular mesh of a trafo embedded in a volumetric mesh that represents the environment around it. The first image shows the initial approximation, while the second image shows the mesh after inserting new points. The third figure shows a flux density cross section (using Tesla unit) and equipotentials obtained from a magnetostatic analysis using the finite element method.
